Last Audible Tone of the School Year: Explain NAFTA. Turn in.
We will watch Commanding Heights and answer questions. This video is about the positive and negatives of globalization. Globalization is the subject of the lone essay question on the final. Audible Tone: Explain each of the 3 monetary policy tools.
1st hour will begin watching Commanding Heights, Episode 3 that looks at the positive and negative aspects of globalization. Hours 3 and 5 will go over the 14, 15, 16 worksheet from yesterday. We will also do practice questions for those chapters in class. Some of those questions will show up on the final exam. Audible Tone: Explain each of the fiscal policy tools and whether they are likely to be used or not.
1st hour will go over the worksheet and do questions from chapters 14, 15, and 16 in class. 3rd and 5th hours will finish with fiscal policy and then discuss monetary policy. They will get the 14, 15, and 16 worksheet for homework. Audible Tone: What is fiscal policy?
3rd and 5th hour need to discuss budget deficits and the national debt. All hours will look at fiscal policy and the tools of it. 1st hour will also look at monetary policy tools. 1st hour will get the last standard set of worksheets for the year. Don't worry, 3rd and 5th will get them tomorrow. Audible Tone: What is the difference between a budget deficit and a national debt?
We will do the budget worksheet in class and go over. We will discuss the problem of balancing the budget as part of this as well. Hours 3 and 5 may get a group work on good/bad of budget deficits depending on time. We will also discuss fiscal policy and the tools of it. Students received the final exam review on Friday. If they complete it and turn it in the day of the final exam, 5% extra credit will be added to their final exam score. Audible Tone: What level of government (federal, state, or local) gets the revenue from income tax? property tax? and sales tax? Turn in.
We will go over the 12/13 test from yesterday. We will look at the 14/1 terms focusing on different types of taxes and the sources of revenue for the government. If time, we will do the budget worksheet in groups. Audible Tone: What are the four phases of the business cycle?
