Today we will work on the review sheet for the final exam. Audible Tone: Explain each of the following monetary policy tools: 1) required reserve ratio 2) interest rates 3) open market operations. How likely is each to be used?
We will go over the chapter 14, 15, and 16 worksheets that were homework yesterday We will also do the taxes, fiscal, monetary multiple choice worksheet in class that has questions on it that may show up as questions on the final. It will be corrected in class. Audible Tone: What is expansionary fiscal policy? What are the tools of it? What is contractionary fiscal policy? What are the tools of it?
We will discuss the reasons for/against having budget deficits/national debts. We will take notes on the three tools of monetary policy and how they work. Worksheets on chapters 14, 15, and 16. Audible Tone: Explain the difference between a budget deficit and a national debt. Turn in.
Read/define 15/1-2 key terms. We will discuss fiscal policy and the tools it has. There will be a group work where students explain the reasons for and against having a budget deficit/national debt. Audible Tone: What is a proportional tax? progressive tax? regressive tax? Give an example for each.
We will get the review sheet (for the final exam) in class. If completed, it is worth 5% extra credit added to the final exam score. Finish work on the budget worksheet and discuss. 15/1-2 key terms for homework. Audible Tone: What level of government (federal, state, or local) gets income tax? property tax? sales tax?
We will get back the test from yesterday and go over it. We will go over the 14/1 terms and look at taxes. Government revenue sources will also be covered. The budget worksheet will be started in class as well. Audible Tone: How are unemployment and inflation related?
